Reinaldo Nuñez - President Reinaldo was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the lower east side of Manhattan. He attended local schools in Manhattan including the City University. While living in Manhattan he was involved with several youth organizations. He later moved to Uniondale and eventually North Bellmore with his wife and children to live in a place of space and tranquility. In community involvement, Reinaldo was a member of the parents advisory Board for the Science and Technology Program at Hofstra University, president of the Uniondale Hispanic Association and the Uniondale Community Council. While in North Bellmore he helped start Cabarus and the North Bellmore Civic Organization. He wanted to provide a forum for his community and local politicians to discuss community issues. |

Bob Podolski - 1st Vice President Robert has lived in North Bellmore since 1963. Always community minded, Robert has been a volunteer fire-fighter for 42 years, and was dubbed "Bellmore Fireman of the Year" in 1970, rising to the position of Chief Captain in 1979. In addition to these achievements, he was the past president of the Republican Club and Bellmore Kiwanis, usher at St. Barnabas Church, area representative to the Nassau County Fire Fighters Burn Foundation, and a member of the Bellmore Chamber of Commerce. |

Stu Weinstein - 2nd Vice President Stu is a life long member of North Bellmore. He was a member of the Oakfield Gables Homeowners Association before joining the North Bellmore Civic Assoc. He studied Math and Computer Science at S.U.N.Y. New Paltz. He served as Board member on the Restoration Advisory Booard for the U.S. Army Bellmore Maintenance Facility. He is also a senior member with the Civil Air Patrol. He is involved in the community because he feels it's important to maintain a certain quality of life that we all deserve. |

Frances Branca - Recording Secretary
Frances was born in the Bronx and went to acting school and did some acting in summer stock and off-Broadway. She moved to North Bellmore in 1959 and received her Associates Degree from Nassau Community College. Frances Worked in the offices of the Bellmore-Merrick School District for 34 years before retiring in 2003. |

Dan Checkla - Correspondance Secretary
Dan has been a Long Islander since the age of two and moved to North Bellmore in 2004. He is married with two children and his family chose the community for its many great qualities. Dan has been actively involved in the community since his arrival. In addition to the Civic Association board, he also serves as President of the Mid-Nassau Democratic Club, as a board member for Yes We Can! Long Island, as Temple Beth-El of Bellmore’s Vice President for Education and as a committee member of Cub Scout Pack 189. In addition, he has been a member of both the North Bellmore and Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District PTA’s. This year, he has been asked to serve on the North Bellmore School Board’s advisory Committee to Explore Educational Options (CEEO) representing the Civic Association. Dan was employed as a research scientist and project manager in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, and has lectured at Stony Brook University. More recently he has worked as an independent consultant for non-profits. He holds a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and did graduate work in biology at Hofstra University. |

Dev Shafeek, Chair, Technology Committee
Dev has been a resident of North Bellmore for over 35 years. Dev attended Mepham High School and graduated from SUNY Albany with degree in Economics. He works in the IT Project Management Office for an investment bank located in downtown NYC. |
